Alternative
A HoneyBook alternative that invoices with VAT, QR-bills and six currencies
HoneyBook is a good product, and if you run a studio in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia you can stop reading: it is available to you and its automation runs deeper than Galerly’s. This page is for the photographer in Zurich, Lyon, Munich or Milan who cannot sign up for it at all, and for anyone who wants galleries and business tools in one account.

The one fact that decides it
HoneyBook became available in the United Kingdom and Australia on 29 May 2026, after years of serving only the United States and Canada. Continental Europe and Switzerland are not on the list. Its invoicing is built around North American sales tax, not per-country EU VAT, reverse charge or the Swiss QR-bill. For a European photographer the comparison is not features; it is whether the tool exists for you.

Where HoneyBook is better
- Automation depth: multi-step workflows, pipelines with stages, questionnaires, scheduling with reminders and campaigns. Galerly has lead follow-up sequences and nothing else automated.
- A mobile app, an integrations marketplace and a large template library.
- A much larger company with a longer track record and a bigger support team.
Where Galerly is better
- It exists for you if you are in Switzerland or the EU, and it invoices the way your accountant expects: country VAT rates, reverse charge with a VAT ID, a QR-bill on CHF invoices.
- Galleries, proofing, AI culling and the print store are in the same account as the quote, contract and invoice, so a client has one record from enquiry to delivery.
- Your client sees documents, emails and the gallery in French, German or Italian if that is their language, without you translating anything.
- A real free plan, and 0% platform fee from the first paid plan at $9 per month.
Workflow, step by step
On HoneyBook: a lead lands in a pipeline, an automation sends the brochure, the client picks a package, signs the proposal and pays through HoneyBook payments, questionnaires collect details, and delivery happens elsewhere. On Galerly: the lead lands in the CRM with a score, you send a quote the client accepts online, the contract is generated from it and signed with the deposit in one link, the welcome document writes itself, and the gallery is delivered from the same account with the balance invoiced in the client’s currency.
Ideal user for each
- HoneyBook: a studio in the US, Canada, the UK or Australia that runs on automated pipelines and already has a gallery tool it likes.
- Galerly: a photographer in Switzerland or the EU, or anyone who wants galleries, culling and the paperwork in one account and prefers fewer moving parts to deeper automation.
Moving over
There is no importer from HoneyBook. In practice you keep HoneyBook until its open projects close, and start the next client on Galerly: the client record is created when you send the first quote. Contract templates are pasted into the editor once. Export your HoneyBook contacts and documents from its own export options before the subscription ends.
